Residential design for mountain living.

Our Mission
At Monashees Drafting & Design, we strive to design unique, residential spaces that reflect each client’s lifestyle, respect the natural environment, and contribute to the lasting beauty of Revelstoke and its mountain communities—through creativity, intuition, and a deeply personal design process.
  • Meet Melanie,

    Owner and Principal Architectural Designer
Melanie Bernier holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Laval University and completed her studies at the School of Environmental Design at the University of Calgary. After five years with an architecture firm in Whistler, she moved to Revelstoke in 2008 and founded Monashees Drafting & Design.

A mountain athlete and former national ski mountaineering team member, Melanie brings the same focus and energy to her design work as she does to life in the mountains. Residential design is one of many passions that fuel her balanced, adventure-driven lifestyle.
  • Meet Silvia,

    Architectural Technologist
Silvia Steurer is a Diplom-Ingenieur graduate of the five-year Architecture Diploma Program at the Technical University of Innsbruck and a Certified Passive House Designer. With experience across Europe and northern Canada, she has worked on projects including the Rainbow Passive House Duplex in Whistler — Canada’s first Passive House-certified prefabricated duplex. After living in Fort Nelson and Grande Prairie, Silvia and her husband Daniel settled in Revelstoke with their two daughters. Since joining Monashees Drafting and Design in 2025, she brings an international perspective and strong focus on sustainable building.
Sustainability
We are committed to sustainable design & development. We strive to minimize the environmental impact of our designs. Our approach includes using eco-friendly materials, optimizing energy efficiency, and incorporating sustainable practices throughout the design and construction process.
